Pluralsight launches tech solutions

Pluralsight is advancing the world's tech workforce. One developer, one delivery cycle, one success at a time.

Pluralsight’s mission is to advance the world’s tech workforce. The way we deliver on our mission needs to respond when the world changes.

Today, Pluralsight evolves with the launch of solutions—built to better enable our customers to respond to the new challenges they face, such as:

  1. Headwinds of a tough economy, where every leader is scrutinizing spending and investments.

  2. A war for talent that requires organizations to become creators (not consumers) of talent.

  3. Workforce and technology transformation that doesn't stop at static destinations like getting certified or a moment-in-time focus on small culture shifts. The skills and operating gaps are growing and put delivery, innovation, and growth at risk.

Why we built our enterprise-ready solutions

Content is a commodity

Send teams to YouTube if all they need is content. Dumping a bunch of generic content on your teams and telling them to master it doesn’t work. The idea of learning isn’t enough, especially when teams struggle with an overload of content from different providers with varying quality and no consistent way of measuring the content’s effectiveness.

Action item: Be intentional. You can’t build programs on content alone.

Organizations lack guidance on what success looks like for a given role

They also need support on how to guide their employees through that journey. In our 2022 State of Upskilling report, technologists said a lack of time and budget are the greatest detractors to upskilling. In fact, we found only 36% of organizations allocate time for learning.

Action item: You need a more programmatic and holistic approach to make learning a priority. Anchor to specific problems and objectives, with clear understanding of what success looks like for a given role. Connect the why, when, and how for everyone involved.

There’s no clear measurement of how teams stack up

In the war for talent, how do you determine how teams stack up and how that translates to the ROI on their skill development investments? The answer is simple: analytics. You need data to know upskilling and reskilling is working and how that ranks you against your peer organizations.

Action item: Connect and measure progress against purpose. Don’t be afraid to revamp programs with low engagement and that don’t deliver ROI.

The teams you need, from the talent you have, on the timeline you want

Today, we’re launching the solutions for these challenges. They are programmatic and guided, with measurable outcomes. They build the teams you need, from the talent you have, on the timeline you want.

Tech fluency

Technology is a deflationary force, but only if people are equipped to leverage it. Leaders are realizing they need tech fluency not only for technologists but for everyone, because tech fluency raises the waterline across entire organizations. We created our tech fluency solution with content that builds conversancy in key technologies. This solution empowers every employee, regardless of technical background, to become fluent in key technologies and how they deliver business outcomes—for less than a cup of coffee per employee per month.

Upskilling and reskilling

Our upskilling and reskilling solution builds on that foundation. It helps organizations move beyond “throwing a bunch of content at tech teams” with no way to calculate effectiveness. It measures and guides individuals with role- and skill-based paths relevant to them and their daily work.

At the same time, the entire organization can index and solve skills gaps at scale. They can use tailored programs, immersive experiences, and instructor-led training to create meaningful outcomes. With this solution, orgs move from tech fluency to mission-ready and build the teams they need—when they need them—for critical projects.

75% of leaders are building new products and features in the cloud, but only 8% of technologists have extensive experience working with cloud-related tools. —State of Cloud 2022 (Pluralsight)

Cloud transformation

Three in four companies plan to deploy everything to the cloud, yet only 8% of their technologists have extensive cloud experience. And the progress to-date has shown that learning is a journey—not a certification. Creating deep specialization in the cloud is difficult without a strategic pathway, so we purpose-built our cloud transformation solution. It blends unparalleled hands-on learning, bite-sized content, sandboxes, and services. With this solution, companies can build cloud-literate, cloud-ready, or cloud-native teams and come out of this economic downturn leaner, stronger, and faster by building on and for the cloud.

Software delivery and engineer onboarding

We know that right now you need to “do more with less.” Our software delivery and engineer onboarding solutions enabled our customers to improve ramp times by 3 – 6 months and reduce cycle times by 35%. These solutions give you the hindsight, insight, and foresight you need into the software delivery lifecycle to make data-driven decisions for engineering teams. Combine the software delivery insights with role-based learning or immersive programs to build better teams and better products at the same time—and measure ROI in a new and meaningful way.

That’s what we mean by our mission—to advance the world’s tech workforce. As your partner. We’ve seen how when you give people the solutions, guidance, and data they need to work and build better together, they will.
