Safiy Abdurrahman

Safiy Abdur-Rahman Director of Applied Technology at NYC Department of Design and Construction. He has practiced in the AEC industry as a Technical Architect BIM manager and technology enthusiast for over 14 years, successfully adopting and implementing BIM at various architectural, engineering and construction management firms. With his experience, Safiy has managed BIM development and workflows on projects of many scopes and sizes with varying levels of complexities, implementing standards, protocols, and best practices, while facilitating aspects of Integrated Project Delivery on multiple teams. Currently, Safiy leads the DDC's and the City of New York's efforts in adopting and implementing BIM and related technology and also contributes to DDC's Lean construction strategies. Safiy is a BIM lecturer at Pratt University and a member of the Lean NYC community of practice and also serves as the research committee chair.
