Mike Cole

Mike Cole is a CG artist from the UK, specializing in character rigging and tool/pipeline development. He is currently working as a Character TD for Sony Imageworks-Vancouver. From an early age, Mike liked to draw and considered a career in illustration, but an interest in computer programming, games, and movies led him to CG animation, a perfect combination of his interests. After getting his degree from Bournemouth University NCCA, he got his break into the industry at the Bristol-based animation studio, Aardman, on their Oscar-nominated film, Pirates! Band of Misfits. In 2012, he made the move to the US to work in Laika's RP department on the animated movies, Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings. Most recently, he relocated to Vancouver to work on the new Smurfs reboot and the Alice in Wonderland sequel. Outside work, Mike is a keen artist and guitarist.
