Melissa Best

Melissa brings 15 years of industry experience to Pluralsight. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, she first became interested in multimedia in high school. After studying graphic design and new media, Melissa briefly worked in motion graphics at a local television station. This led to her first visual effects job at Frantic Films (Prime Focus). She has since worked in feature film for both traditional and stereoscopic films. Melissa finds a passion for teaching and mentoring and has taught at various studios and schools in L.A., San Francisco, Vancouver, and most recently in Mumbai. As a Compositing Supervisor, Melissa has contributed to films such as The Jungle Book, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Alice Through the Looking Glass. With over 11 years of teaching experience, Melissa is currently working as the Senior Visual Effects Instructor at Vancouver Film School.
