Mark Boas

Although based in Italy, Mark Boas makes up half of the Scottish company Happyworm - his role there is to play about with web based media. He also coordinates the development of jPlayer - an open source JS media library and helps companies such as Al Jazeera, the BBC and WNYC do new things on the web. As a Knight-Mozilla OpenNews fellow, 2012 was spent working closely with global news organizations. Mark has run courses for the W3C, Al Jazeera and is currently coaching students at the University of Florence in interactive media. Recently Mark founded Hyperaudio Inc. - a non-profit organization dedicated to making both audio and video first class citizens of the web. In his spare time Mark grows vegetables, brews beer and appreciates a good remix.
