Staying Organized While Creating Character Concepts in Photoshop
In this Photoshop tutorial, we'll create a character concept from start to finish. Software required: Photoshop CS4.
What you'll learn
In this Photoshop tutorial, we'll create a character concept from start to finish. We'll use basic tools such as the brush, pen tool, and lasso tool along the way. We'll also use three basic layer styles: multiply for shadows, overlay for lights, and normal for final opaque details. Working this way keeps the file easily editable and workable. Setting it up properly allows the work to flow smoothly and adjustments can be made with minimal reworking required. By the end of this Photoshop training, you'll have a good drawing and color block in, and you will be more familiar with techniques to show form and texture in order to bring the image to a finished level. Software required: Photoshop CS4.
