An authorizing official/designating representative is a senior official or executive with the authority to formally assume responsibility for operating an information system at an acceptable level of risk to organizational operations (including mission, functions, image, or reputation), organizational assets, individuals, other organizations, and the Nation (CNSSI 4009).

 

This path will get you started on your journey to becoming an authorizing official/designating representative! Begin with the fundamental concepts of network protocols, common network analysis, and risk management through hands-on labs, then dive into the essential skills necessary to perform the day-to-day functions by expanding your skill set with, automation, deeper/advanced concepts and additional knowledge from adjacent roles!
