About the author
Heather Fitzpatrick’s interest in technology began while studying biology at Daytona State College. While perusing the college job board she noticed an Information Technology job with a local judicial agency. She quickly learned from this job that she was passionate about helping others learn how to get the most out of the technology they use every day. She not only changed her college focus to Business Management/Information Technology, but also made a career out of it by tackling many differen... moret roles in her 9 plus years of service providing help desk support, PC technical support and IT training.
In 2005 a new opportunity presented itself and the green flag followed as she started her corporate/sports technology career with NASCAR. Throughout her 9 plus years with NASCAR, she again managed many areas within IT Services. In her most recent role as an IT Training Manager she was responsible for technical writing, editing, marketing, curriculum development and training delivery. Educating corporate staff and trackside officials on the latest hardware and software technologies was her main focus.
Through 12 years of delivering training she has earned active certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Master, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), ITIL and has been a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) since 2010. In 2012 Microsoft appointed her MCT Regional Lead for the Eastern United States.
As the checkered flag dropped at NASCAR in June of this year, another endeavor begin. She is now an independent trainer specializing in Microsoft technologies and Instructional Skills for Trainers, facilitating learning for many companies including NASCAR, colleges/universities and learning centers. Her real world knowledge combined with industry standards and certifications gives her the leading edge in helping others learn.
