Reporting Services Advanced Topics
This course is for report developers who have some experience developing reports with Reporting Services. It explains advanced techniques for working with data visualizations, Analysis Services as a data source, and custom functions.
What you'll learn
This course covers advanced topics in Reporting Services for report developers having some experience with the product. It provides in-depth coverage of data visualization properties and techniques for presenting data visually in charts and maps. It also explains how working with Analysis Services as a data source is different from working with relational sources and shows how to query Analysis Services cubes and how to work with parameters and the report layout when using cube data. This course also shows how report developers can extend Reporting Services functionality by adding custom functions to reports. The features and demonstrations in this course focus on the SQL Server 2008 R2 release, although the custom functions topic also applies to earlier versions of Reporting Services.
