Play by Play: Migrating Large Data Volumes (LDV) into a Live Salesforce Org
In this course, you’ll learn about various aspects of complex large data volume migrations into Salesforce.
What you'll learn
Play by Play is a series in which top technologists work through a problem in real time, unrehearsed, and unscripted. In this course, Play by Play: Migrating Large Data Volumes (LDV) into a Live Salesforce Org, Kid Jansen and Don Robins discuss techniques for migrating Large Data Volumes into a live Salesforce org, many of the challenges likely to be faced, and how to overcome them. Along the way we’ll look at the system landscape and the data models of both the source and target systems, and take into account some Salesforce architectural best practices such as data model denormalization. From there we’ll take a deep dive into topics such as leveraging an integration approach for the migration; mapping, transforming and preparing the data for Salesforce; API and performance considerations, error handling, validation and testing. Finally, we’ll look at the possibility that portions of the target Salesforce implementation may require some refactoring to better handle high volume data after the migration, especially with regard to both declarative and programmatic automation.
