What you'll learn
Ensuring reliable backup and recovery on Linux application servers is critical to prevent data loss and maintain access to essential business records. In this course, Linux System Administration: Backup and Recovery with rsync and tar, you’ll learn to configure full backup and incremental backup on a Linux application server. First, you’ll explore tar utility to configure a full system backup on an internal application server. Next, you’ll discover rsync utility to configure incremental backup for the application’s internal data source files. Finally, you’ll learn how to restore deleted files from the backup using tar utility. You will restore the deleted JSON files that are required to process sales, inventory, customers, employee, and support ticket data. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of configuring a backup for Ubuntu OS needed to define backup strategy.
