Leading from a Distance
This course will teach you the skills and characteristics needed to successfully lead a remote or geographically distributed team, broken down into 5 simple concepts.
What you'll learn
The workplace has dramatically changed. You recognize that some employees have thrived working in their own space, while others have struggled. In this course, Ross Tartell, PhD, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, will show you how to best lead remote employees. First, you’ll structure your virtual environment with a focus on empathy and success. Next, explore the four traditional factors that will make you an effective remote team leader. Finally, learn to identify which employees shine while working remotely and those that struggle, and how to connect with these groups in order to create the most positive outcome for your company. After this course, you’ll feel confident in your skill to lead your employees with structured meetings designed to engage, encourage, and empathetically push your team toward success.
