What you'll learn
In this Photoshop tutorial, we'll go over a proven process for conceptualizing products for industrial design. We'll begin this process by analyzing the parameters of the product that we'll be conceptualizing so we can sketch with more purpose and clarity. Following this, we'll use some different methods of sketching to produce a variety of contrasting thumbnails. From here, we'll evaluate our thumbnails and choose some of our best options that fit within the range of our product's parameters. After choosing our top thumbnails, we'll sketch additional thumbnail concepts that pull from the various attributes and features of our top thumbs. Finally, we'll choose our final concept sketch and create turnarounds to view it from different sides. Generating a variety of ideas for any concept design can be challenging. By exploring this layered process, you can create a variety of design concepts for any product. Software required: Photoshop CC 14.0.
