Cisco Enterprise Networks: Layer 3 Foundations

by Nic Bhasin

This course will prepare you with the basic foundations of the Layer 3 technologies covered in the CCNP ENCOR exam. This is mandatory in order to be ready for the more advanced portions of the exam.

What you'll learn

Elevate your networking skills from basic command-line operations to a deeper understanding of Internet Protocols and advanced routing concepts. In this course, Cisco Enterprise Networks: Layer 3 Foundations, you will make the jump from a simple operator of the network device CLI to the next level. First, you will learn to think deeply about the fundamentals of Internet Protocols, both versions 4 and 6, and understand the “why” behind some of the “how” you may already be familiar with. Next, you will see some advanced IPv4 and some more basic IPv6 addressing concepts. Then, you will understand how Layer 3 packets are actually forwarded on Cisco IOS platforms using the concept of CEF. Finally, you will learn how to override the routing table using Policy Based Routing. When you are finished with this course, you will have the skills and understanding of the common routing protocol algorithms used by modern dynamic Layer 3 routing protocols.
