Securing Azure Chaos Studio
This course will teach you to secure and safely manage Azure Chaos Studio experiments, focusing on controlling who can build and run experiments, specific faults designers can inject into chaos targets, and how to gather data for greater control.
What you'll learn
Chaos engineering is a powerful tool for maintaining resilience in your applications and cloud services, but controlled chaos is key to safely leveraging this testing approach. In this course, Securing Azure Chaos Studio, you’ll learn to control which services can be targeted and to granularly manage and monitor the ways in which they can be disrupted in Azure Chaos Studio experiments. First, you’ll explore strategies and options for protecting cloud assets that you select to participate in chaos testing. Next, you’ll discover more specific details around the use of managed identities and RBAC in your Azure Chaos Studio implementations. Finally, you’ll learn how to emit experiment-related telemetry for analysis in Application Insights. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of controlled chaos in Azure Chaos Studio needed to more safely and securely leverage chaos engineering in Azure.

About the author
Howdy fellow student of life! Thanks for your interest in learning more about what makes me tick. Throughout my tech career, I found that I had the most fun and the greatest satisfaction when I was helping others learn about and embrace software and related technologies. So, when I was honored to be offered a staff position as a training architect -- I realized a dream to combine my passion for technology and my passion for teaching others. I hope that the material I provide plays some small part in helping you pursue your passions, too. A leader of people, a shepherd of data -- and a follower of both -- I have more than 30 years in the tech industry, much of it focused on Microsoft stack services and databases, for both on-prem and cloud implementations. I cut my cloud teeth while reducing a patent to practice; we implemented a card game paradigm in a WCF service on Azure. It was late in 2012, when interacting with Azure involved a lot of co-mentoring with erstwhile Microsoft folks. I've had my head in the cloud(s) ever since!
