Introduction to Serverless with AWS Lambda

by Craig Arcuri

AWS Lambda allows you to run code without provisioning or managing servers. This course will teach you the key details of AWS Lambda, and how, and when to implement Lambda.

What you'll learn

An organization may not have the desire or personnel to manage servers. AWS Lambda provides a scalable, serverless architecture that can free up your personnel to focus on innovation and business logic. In the course Introduction to Serverless with Lambda, you'll learn how to implement Lambda in the appropriate use cases. First, you’ll learn about Lambda vs. EC2, the strengths and weaknesses of each, and what situations dictate their use. Next you'll discover the key components of a Lambda function and how the components look in a few of the more common languages used with Lambda. Finally, you’ll explore use cases for Lambda and specific design patterns that can be repeatedly used to implement Lambda functions. When you’re finished with this course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to effectively and appropriately implement Lambda functions.
