Creating Multiple Subnets in Azure

Your company wants to block communication between two VMs. They currently reside on the same network and on the same subnet. Ensure they are separated into different subnets and communication is blocked using a network security group.

Challenge

Create a New Subnet
1. Log in to the Azure portal using the credentials provided.
2. Create a new subnet named subnet2 with the CIDR address 10.0.1.0/24.
Challenge

Create New Network Security Group Rules
1. Go to All Services > Network Security Groups.
2. Create new network security group rules that block traffic in and out of 10.0.0.0/24.
3. To associate the NSG to the subnet, select the NSG's Subnets setting option and choose + Associate, then select your virtual network and the subnet. Select OK.
Challenge

Move the VM to the New Subnet
1. Move the VM named linVM to subnet2.
2. Verify you can no longer communicate with linVM from winVM.
