Running Your First Podman Container on RHEL
Every journey has to start somewhere. In this lab, we jump right into the deep end and look at how to launch and interact with our first container! Once complete, you'll know how to start, interact, and stop a container.

Let's try the following:
- Check for running containers as
cloud_user
androot
- Check for local container images
- Search for
httpd-24
container images - Run the
docker.io/centos/httpd-24-centos8
image- In detached mode, with a
tty
to run commands

again - Check for local container images again
- Check the contents of the
/etc/redhat-release
file on the server - Open a

Clean Up
Let's clean up after ourselves!
Do the following:

again - Stop our running container

again and verify it's stopped - Remove the container
- Check for running containers as

again and verify it's removed - Check for local container images again
- Remove our
httpd-24-centos8:latest
image from local storage - Check for local container images again
- Check for running containers as
