Challenge

Verify the Samba service.
Verify the service is running:
```
systemctl status smb
```
Attempt to view the listing of shares on the localhost:
```
smbclient -U cloud_user -L localhost
```
Password: Welcome1
Challenge

Resolve authentication issue.
Check /var/log/secure for any errors:
```
tail /var/log/secure
```
Check the Samba logs for any errors:
```
tail /var/log/samba/log.smbd
```
View the PAM service file:
```
cat /etc/pam.d/samba
```
Verify the package to see if any PAM files are changed:
```
rpm -V samba
```
Move the changes PAM file to /root/samba.pam.old:
```
mv /etc/pam.d/samba /root/samba.pam.old
```
Reinstall Samba to restore the original PAM file:
```
yum reinstall -y samba
```
Restart the Samba service:
```
systemctl restart smb
```
View the listing of shares on the localhost:
```
smbclient -U cloud_user -L localhost
```
