Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) - Practice Exam Part 3

This lab provides practice scenarios to help prepare you for the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) exam. You will be presented with tasks to complete, as well as server(s) and/or an existing Kubernetes cluster to complete them in. You will need to use your knowledge of Kubernetes to successfully complete the provided tasks, much like you would on the real CKS exam. Good luck!

Create a Default Deny Network Policy

A default deny network policy is a policy that blocks all traffic in a namespace by default.

Create a network policy called default-deny that blocks all incoming traffic to all Pods in the mordor namespace.

Note: You can find a skeleton manifest for the network policy in /home/cloud_user/default-deny.yml.

  2. Challenge

Create a Network Policy to Allow Specific Traffic

Create a network policy called 'mtdoom-np' that allows specific traffic on port 80 to reach the 'mtdoom' Pod in the mordor namespace.

The policy should allow incoming traffic:

From all Pods in the 'frodo' namespace. From all Pods with the label 'app=sam', regardless of which namespace they are in.

Note: You can find a skeleton manifest for the network policy in /home/cloud_user/mtdoom-np.yml.
