It is sleek, efficient, and most importantly, a joy to work with once you are familiar with its extensive toolset. In this course, Introduction to V-Ray for 3ds Max 2016, you will learn how to streamline the process of learning V-Ray, boiling the toolset down to the most important concepts to get you up and running quickly. First, you will explore lighting solutions. Next, you will gain familiarity with only the most popular V-Ray materials. Finally, you will gain an understanding of how to effectively utilize the various GI render engines in V-Ray. Upon completion of this course, you will have the confidence to light, shade, and render scenes in 3ds Max using V-Ray. Software required: 3ds Max 2016, V-Ray 3.3.

About the author

Curvin is currently a Professor of Interactive Design at Becker College in Worcester, MA. He specializes in teaching 3D modeling, animation, and digital storytelling. He has a Bachelor's of Arts in Sculpture, a Master's of Science in Interactive Design, and a MFA in Illustration from Marywood University.
