Back from Prague

What a whirlwind February and March have been. Sydney one week, home the next, Campsight in Redmond the next week, home for a week, then off to Beijing for a week, home for a week and then off to Prague. I'm happy to say that I've not got much travel on my calendar for the next few months other than some brief conference appearances. My family is happy about that as well.

Last week I taught the Longhorn Server Ascend training class in Prague to the most diverse group of students I think I've ever taught. We had folks from many countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Britain, South Africa, and that's only the ones I can remember!

Most people had good English skills which made my life a lot easier during the week, and in the evenings, I had the pleasure of hanging out with many of the students as we explored Prague. One particular evening (don't ask me to remember which one - I'm glad I made it back to the Hotel that night) I went out drinking with a couple students and besides enjoying plenty of local Czech beer, we threw back a few shots of absinth. I brought home a bottle just for fun - that's some seriously powerful stuff; it's not sold in many countries, and certainly not here on Colorado, where the damn liquor stores are closed on Sundays :)

Prague is a beautiful city; you must see it if you get a chance to travel to Europe. Any direction you walk there's something interesting to see. Just don't expect to see many South African girls there! ;-)
