We (Pluralsight) just announced the dates (Feb. 28-Mar. 4 2005) and other details of our second Campsight, Server Edition event - see all the details here! Our first event sold out and was really well received by students - read some of their comments here.

If you haven't heard of this event before, it's a 5 day intensive (10hrs / day) hands-on course on building distributed applications on the Microsoft platform today. There are 4 instructors (myself, Keith Brown, Aaron Skonnard, and Don Box) presenting everything from contract-first development with .asmx to building Web portals to effectively using protocol transition for managing identity in a multi-tiered application. Our focus in this course is to give you a solid grounding on how to build distributed systems today with an eye toward the future. You should leave the course with a practical understanding of how to build systems with today's technologies, as well as knowledge of where each technology is going so you can design your systems in anticipation of migration.

One significant addition we have made to the curriculum since the last offering is additional coverage of Windows SharePoint services and Smart Clients, both of which I'm particularly excited about as I think it really rounds out the user interface elements of the curriculum.

One of the things about our first offering of this course that students really liked, was our Thursday night question and answer session with various product team members in addition to the instructional staff. We're going to expand this idea in our next offering and include one or two additional evening q&a sessions, so come prepared with all of your toughest questions!

Finally, we have chosen a different venue for this offering - instead of being on the Microsoft campus, we are in the Marriott hotel at the Redmond Town Center (just next door to the campus). The town center has movie theaters, 100's of stores, and many restaurants, all within walking distance of the hotel, so for those of you coming from out of town, there should be plenty of options for evening activities (instead of wandering aimlessly around the MS campus as I know some of you did last time :)

I'm really looking forward to this event, and I hope to see you there!
