Brain.Load() - Steve Maine and Isomorphism

I wasted a few minutes reading the "WSDL/XSD == truth" permathread yesterday.

Lots of new traffic.

Not much new data.  Here's the summary:

  1. Yes, we're going to interchange WSDL+XSD for the foreseeable future. Maybe even forever.
  2. Yes, few people will author it in raw textual XML form. And of those few, many lament the fact that they have to work at such an odd level of abstraction (tons of details, yet few of those details really matter on the wire).

The one post that I wish everyone would read and internalize is Steve Maine's excellent post on Isomorphism.

Specifically, look at the "In search of the 'real' contract" section.

To use Christian Weyer's words, Indigo may not heal us, but perhaps Steve Maine can.

Don,

Thank you for the pointer to Steve Maine's post. Never have these concepts been made so clear to me as they are there. The elegant simplicity of it is startling.
