UltraMon

I recently set my workstation up with dual monitors (and as you can see, I managed to convince Aaron to go the same route :) If you're running dual (or more) monitors too, you should definitely check out this utility, UltraMon. It really makes living the dual lifestyle much nicer with things like spreading the taskbar across both monitors, where icons of apps on each monitor are localized to the taskbar on their respective monitors. It also lets you run a different screen saver on each monitor, and it adds a handy pair of extra buttons to every window: one that moves the window to the same location on the other screen, and one that maximizes the window across both screens.

I run 2 X 1600 X 1200.

Actually one is swiveled to 1200 X 1600 and the other is at 1600 X 1200.

I completely agree. That is simply awesome !!

I've been using a free multi-monitor package that has less features, but works great for me. It's called Oscar's Multi-Monitor TaskBar and available from:

Have fun!

I don't like the extra task bar since I'm more of a keyboard shortcut guy. But the other stuff is awesome! I wonder if it has any new functionality since I purchased it.

I'm a little late to the ball game, but I finally downloaded UltraMon after reading Fritz Onion's blog. ...

I'm using a TVator Exec (only $99, but might be cheaper now) to be able to use my TV, and compute-from-bed.

The best feature of Ultramon in this vein, is to use often underutilized features of your graphics card, to go to resolutions that are nearly impossible any other way.

320x200, 320x400, 512x384 --- these odd resolutions (more typical for DOS or MAME games) are absolutely perfect for TV usage.

Do you have any idea to use UltraMon to display Pointpoint Viewer on secondary monitor in VB.NET?

Thanks

I was using Ultramon a couple years back and switched over to CineMastery with my new array from CineMassive Display http://www.cinemassivedisplays.com

CineMassive Displays CineMastery seems to be a more modern variant of the older Ultramon suite. Works beautifully on my triple 20" displays.

the ultramon vbscript library works fine with it too.

Or you could pay nothing and get a freeware product that does the same thing and more.

MMT doesn't allow you to "mirror" the windows taskbar, nor moving the 2nd taskbar to monitor 1, nor displaying all tasks

it's only a small free utility, not the challenger of ultramon
